bone-eater: Grim's blog about biology and other stuff

book: The Struggle for Food Sovereignty ,  Rémy Herrera and Kin Chi Lau

the book is open access. JSTOR has it. I do love a hard copy for annotation purposes...

I'd recommend this if you're looking for a very zoomed-out view of the struggle for food sovereignty (both the struggle itself, and the history of what it is struggling against) in a few places around the world. The book covers latin america, southern Africa (distinct from, but including, South Africa), China, India, Papua Niugini, and Europe. The JSTOR page has summaries of each section.

If you're looking for really specific, detailed cases, look elsewhere; perhaps look at the relevant section in this book and see if it mentions any specific threads you can follow.

Something I really appreciate is how differences in the history of each place are discussed and clarified, rather than treating the titular struggle as monolithic and independent of time+place.

good overview. Might not have new stuff for those already read-up on the topics, but since it's free you might as well poke your nose in!
